Hello Yakima Valley!

This is the first of many posts for those out there who prefer long-winded discussions to the short speeches we tend to give on the campaign trail. While we often try to minimize many laws and bills to "for or against", the reality is that many of the issues we face today are highly nuanced and complicated. Many different people are affected differently by state laws, and it is the duty of representatives to bring the perspective of their district to Olympia when decisions are made. That is why I will be making these posts: I want to share the deeper thought processes, values, and research that go in to some of my opinions and ideals.

In the future, I will be making dedicated posts regarding many of the issues we talk about today. Agriculture, business, taxes, medical care, education, and more are all on the list. My hope is that voters that want to dig in to details will find more of what they want here than is usually available to voters.

For those looking for a reason to dislike me, you will likely be able to find it. For those who want to understand and engage in the kind of discussion that improves our state, I look forward to talking with you about the ideas laid out here! Even more, I look forward to learning more about the needs of our community, and I hope you will join me in taking them to the capital.

Let's get rolling!
